Sarah Jessica Parker's Shoe Line Is Finally Here!!
The wait is finally over. Sarah Jessica Parker's highly anticipated shoe line is finally available at Nordstroms. This is a big day for shoe lovers everywhere as there is perhaps no other character (well, maybe Cinderella) so synonomous with shoes as that of Carrie Bradshaw, who Sarah Jessica Parker played on both the small and big screen for nearly a decade.
“In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw,” Parker told Vogue.com last year. “It’s sort of soup to nuts. You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you’re walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself.”
Well, we are glad she finally gave in because these shoes are really beautiful and they don't cost an arm and a leg either. Here are a few of our favorites:
"The Alison" ($485)
SJP says, "This is for the girl who doesn't want to wear a traditional ladylike heel but wants a bit of height." A perfect transition shoe for spring. It is feminine but with a bit of an edge.
"The Billie" ($195)
We can't believe Carrie Bradshaw has made a pair of flats but these do look delectable. "I imagine every woman in these. They're comfy and chic, especially with the low-cut front," says SJP.
"The Etta" ($425)
Parker says, "This one is for short ladies like me! I made the T-strap lower to lengthen the leg.” Well, thank goodness for that. Plus, they are darn pretty.
"The Carrie" ($355)
And there she is. “Carrie is obviously one of my favorite people, and this is an ode to her. It’s a strong shoe that can be worn for day and night.”
In an interview with the Associated Press Parker talked about how she came to the decision to call that shoe "The Carrie".
"There were other Carries. And it kept not feeling right. But this shoe (a T-strap heeled number in purple) is kind of a contradiction. Because there is something very feminine and ladylike about this shoe, but the purple is a little subversive. The purple is the person that chose not to wear the appropriate thing to work. And I feel that's what Carrie was."
And we are so glad! So go get a pair this weekend or hop online and go for it! And definitely pair them with a pair of Solemates High Heelers. You know Carrie would, or, Charlotte would tell her to.
