Describe a typical day at work for you?
Hmmmm... I don’t think we’ve ever really had a typical day! I’m on a plane right now coming home from a speaking engagement in the Cayman Islands. I guess you can say that’s fairly typical for me?? Some days I’m on a plane, some days we’re in the studio catching up on emails and answering calls all day. Some days I’ll hold a full day of power meetings with clients when they’re in town. Other days I might be flying off to venues throughout the US or abroad for a site visit for one of our events. That’s the beauty of event production nothing is typical and it’s always interesting!
What's one of your coolest stories as an event planner?
At John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s wedding in Lake Como, Stevie Wonder spontaneously got up a sang a few songs for them during dinner. It was a perfect evening! Dining al fresco, under the stars, being serenaded by one of the greatest musicians of all time. I remember turning to one of my assistants and thinking... “this is pretty special”.
What couldn't you live without?
My husband, my family, my friends, my animals! Is that too many things??
Who is your dream client?
One that is adventurous, well-traveled, savvy, genuine, kind, gracious to their guests -- and trusting of us. Smaller, intimate destination weddings (the more remote the better!) are my favorite.
What is your favorite product or thing that you offer?
It’s an intangible – but one of my favorite things that we offer is an amazing guest experience. We love taking care of the guests and providing a flawless event for them as well as our clients. We love surprising them with reveals and treats throughout the evening. We make sure they know they are just as important to us as our clients are.
What is your best advice for anyone planning a wedding?
Please surrender! Whatever happens...happens. Just have fun and be in the moment!!!
