How To Wear Mules (The Hot Shoe of the Spring!)
It may be the year of the horse, but when it comes to shoes, it is the year of the mule. This was one of the biggest footwear trends we saw come out of Fall Fashion Week 2014, but there is no reason you can't start rocking this trend now. Here are a few tips:
1. Pair them with jeans
You are going to want to go for a high platform when wearing denim.
2. Pair them with a pleated or pencil skirt or an A-line dress
Go for a truly retro look by pairing your mules with a skirt that falls below the knees. Try a Peter Pan collar dress with cutout, strap or canvas mules as well.
3. Go wild with your shoes
Keep the rest of your outfit mute and leave it all to the mules. Pick a bold color or an animal print.
3. NEVER wear mules with a short, tight dress
It just won't work.
Also, don't think that you can't wear a mule now just because it is still technically winter. Mules are good through the season,
1. Until it gets super warm, go for darker colors like black, blue or oxblood.
2. You can rock the open-toed mules, if you dare, but make sure the rest of the shoe is boot-like, according to StyleCaster.
