Jennifer Lawrence made a very memorable red carpet appearance at this Sunday's Oscar. Yes her Christian Dior red dress was stunning but we are talking about her epic fall. Lawrence went down on the red carpet, clinging the woman in front of her for dear life.

Of course this wasn't the first time the Hunger Games actress took a tumble in a very public place. She fell last year on her way up the stairs to receive her Oscar for Best Actress.

But it is not like Jennifer is the first woman to ever take a nose dive in high heels. Many women are simply not comfortable walking in high heels. A recent survey released by The College of Podiatry, more than 40% of women say they suffer through the pain of wearing heels for the sake of fashion. Most women report that heels start to hurt their feet after an hour and six minutes of wear, while 20% say that they can feel the pain after just 10 minutes. According to researchers at the University of Portsmouth, heels can change the way the entire body moves, including the pelvis, hips, legs, knees, feet and even shoulders, to emphasize femininity. The researchers, whose study appears in the scientific journal Evolution and Human Behaviour, say men rate women wearing heels as more attractive then those wearing flat shoes.

So clearly high heels aren't going anywhere. So what do we do, as our falls may not be quite as cute or funny as Jennifer Lawrence's and we don't acrtually want to get hurt. And just remember, no one is Carrie Bradshaw.

And now on to the tips!

1. Stat with good posture

It is all about your foundation. Make sure your body is relaxed and your arms are loose and at your sides since they will help you balance as you walk.

2. Make sure your heels actually fit

It is really important that your heels actually fit. If you are stuffing your shoe into a heel that is too small or wearing ones that are too big, you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage.

3. Check your soles.

Make sure that the sole of the shoe is completely flat to the floor and doesn't wobble.

4. Look straight ahead.

Do not keep your head down. Eyes need to be looking ahead at your surroundings.

5. Wear Solemates High Heelers!

We have a very strong feeling that Jen would have never fallen if she had a pair of Solemates High Heelers. They are the secret weapon for every woman in heels. They can literally save you from so many falls and keep you feeling more confident.
