Falling for Fall [with Girl Meets Gold]

I have to admit. I’m a summer baby. And I mean literally, because I was born in the summer, but it also really is my favorite season. I welcome warmer weather and my wardrobe thrives and flourishes with lightweight fabrics, and pretty, summery prints. To say I’m summer obsessed would be an understatement. However…and I really can’t believe it myself…I am currently majorly craving fall.

While I’ve loved wearing fun rompers and dresses all summer long, I am a true jeans girl at heart and 100+ degree weather and jeans do not mix. As much as I wish they did. That combined with the fact that I scored some majorly adorable booties in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has me ready to take on fall. I am officially ready for fall neutrals and denim days. Bring on the layers, booties, and sweaters. And ok, pumpkin spice lattes, too. With that being said, I’m not in denial to the fact that summer is still going strong here AND I still feel like I want to get ample wear out of my summer staples, because let’s be honest, my wardrobe is full of them.

What else is my wardrobe full of? White. Lots and lots of white. Honestly, I think half my closet is made up of white sleeveless blouses. I adore them during summer, but they really are timeless and more importantly, seasonless. This little white peplum top has a feminine flare, which I’m all about, and I love the flirty look of a fresh white top paired with denim and a bootie that has a touch of edge.

It’s such an easy transitional look that will be perfect layered up with a faux leather jacket as fall officially rolls in. My other key fall staple (besides my new favorite booties!) is this cutie Kate Spade bag. There’s nothing like a new handbag to elevate a look. I’m loving the taupey/greige color for fall, but I think this one is another seasonless staple. It looks fresh with summer brights and amazing paired with neutrals. Oh and did I mention it shimmers? SHIMMERS, people. Not in a tacky way, but in a “sparkles when it hits the light and is oh-so-gorgeous and I can’t stop staring at it” kind of way. It’s that good! And is my new favorite piece to complete my summer to fall looks.

So, I guess the moral of the story is: If you’re resistant to the transition into fall, snag yourself a new pair of booties and a fab handbag and maybe you will fall for fall, as well!
