6 of Kate Middleton’s Best Shoe Looks

Kate Middleton is everywhere these days. And it's really no wonder considering what a style icon she has become in just a few short years (of course being married to the future King of England may have to do with that and having possibly the cutest baby in the world. Hello George!)

Kate has had such a profound impact on women that it has come to be known as "The Kate Middleton Effect". "Copying celebrity style is something we’ve always done: the difference is that the internet gives you instant access to that must-have item,” said Karen Richards, principal retail consultant at Penna, which advises many prominent retailers in an interview with the Financial Times. “Before, you’d have to plan to go to the store to see if you could get that item. From an e-commerce perspective, it’s fabulous.”

For example, when Kate wore a Burberry trench coat back in 2011 the item sold out instantly on the retailer’s website. Her blue dress by designer Issa that she wore during the engagement announcement sold out at Harvey Nichols within 24 hours. “Chains like Zara, Reiss, Talbots and Topshop cater to a taste for replicKates, as bloggers have called them: pert shirtwaists, lace sheaths and primly tailored coatdresses,” wrote New York Times reporter Ruth La Ferla. And now skinny colored jeans can be added to the list.

And, of course, Kate's shoes are a big part of her style. For Easter she wore three different outfits alone! Let's take a look at some of her best shoe moments:

Kate Middleton flats

Jane Winkworth Ballet Flats
In 2011 Kate revived flat footwear by donning ballet-style shoes designed by the one who created them for Princess Diana. Jane Winkworth’s fashionable flats are worn not only by the Duchess of Cambridge, but her sister, Pippa Middleton, as well. Both women are definitely making flats more popular walking all over London in French Sole flats.

Jane Winkworth’s shoes were discovered by Princess Diana‘s favorite clothing designer, Catherine Walker, when she was walking her dog by her fashion house one day. Walker liked Jane’s self-created shoes so much, she invited her to share them with Diana, who immediately ordered 12 pairs from her. The Middleton sisters enjoy wearing Winkworth’s ballet-style flats and don’t sacrifice fashion by being comfortable. Diana frequently wore the ballet inspired comfort shoes from French Sole.

These 5-inch sparkly heels really stole the show in 2012 when she wore them the first time with this Roland Mouret dress.

Kate Middleton suede pumps

Nude L.K. Bennett suede pumps
Kate really loves these simple yet sophisticated pumps that go with everything. And like sister Pippa, she isn't afraid to be caught in the same item more than once (she wore them repeatedly over Easter weekend). As a result,  patent court shoes sales in all colors are up 76 percent as women use them to smarten up day-to-day outfits as well as occasion dresses and skirts.
