5 Tricks to Pack Well for a Summer Weekend

Here are some tips and tricks to pack for a weekend getaway, because if it’s summer, the weekends are NOT meant for staying at home:

  1. Roll your clothes

Rolling your clothes not only saves space in your weekender bag, it also eliminates wrinkles. You can roll an entire outfit up from head to toe and just grab one and be ready for the day.

  1. Shoe bag

Since this is only a weekend excursion, packing your shoes in with your clothes is the smartest way to go to eliminate multiple bags. Putting your shoes in a shoe bag like this keeps them scuff free and your clothes squeaky clean.

  1. Keep accessories simple

Only pack a few, basic accessories that go with multiple outfits. Avoid packing big, bulky accessories like hats so they won’t get damaged in your bag.

  1. Make the most of your traveling outfit

Chances are, you will either be in a car or on a plane and your outfit should be comfortable for that. However, if you have plans later on that day and you can’t change, wearing something that can easily be transformed into a nice outfit for lunch or dinner is a great way to go.

  1. Don’t overpack

The key term here is ‘weekend.’ There is no need to pack 14 different outfits for a 2 or 3 night stay, anywhere. Plan out outfits before you leave and refer to trick #1 to put them all together. One bag, like our friend Lauren Conrad, and you're set.

Enjoy your short but sweet trips, everyone! Remember to have a #wellheeled weekend, wherever you go!
