5 Big Summer Shoe Trends and How To Rock Them

Summer is finally here! The hemlines are getting shorter, the tops are getting lighter and the shoes are getting a whole lot cuter. And once again, the fashion gods have deemed a few unique styles to be the shoes that everyone will wear this summer. Some of them make sense, some them seem a bit random but whatever they are, they are all cute and perfect for a great summer day.

1. Espadrilles

Once again, the espadrilles are back. They are having a major trending moment thanks to celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Beyonce Knowles, Kate Bosworth and Katy Perry. These celebrities were spotted wearing the espadrilles pair from Chanel and other designers have taken note of the trend too (for a cheaper price). J.Crew has a huge variety right now!

2. Wedges

A chunky wedge sandal is such a classic summer look. Jessica Simpson has a great pair of wedge sandals that will give any girl some great height without losing comfort.

3. Gladiators

These sandals are quickly becoming a summer staple instead of just a fleeting trend. If you are really bold like Kourtney Kardashian, you can rock some knee-high pairs (like this pair from Charlotte Russe). But the rest of us can go a bit shorter (though make sure the length doesn't make your leg look shorter) and pair a fun brown pair with a great white sundress. Pairing a simple metallic gladiator with a formal dress is also a great evening drink. Try this fun pair from Steve Madden.

4. The slingback

Always a summer staple, we are seeing this all over Michael Kors, Francisco Costa, Bottega Veneta and Altuzarra, Rochas and Dsquared2. Sarah Jessica Parker made this beautiful pair for her new shoe line, SJP.

5. The Birkenstock

It really is the 1990s again! If you have kept yours in good shape then pull them out of the closet. If you threw them away with your overalls and poet's blouses, then go out and get a new pair in one of their new fun colors. White is also nice too like this pair from ASOS.
